The Exhibit
Wisdom is the ability to make sound judgments and choices based on experience. It’s a virtue according to every great philosophical and religious tradition, from Aristotle to Confucius and Christianity to Judaism, Islam to Buddhism, and Taoism to Hinduism.
From early B.C until the present, there has been many great tribes, villages, and cities that have been lead by powerful and knowledgeable leaders. These leaders were the rulers and sole protectors of the people in their tribe or village and everyone respected these leaders. Often, they were showered with gifts and the people were willing to do anything to please or serve their master. The people under these kings and rulers from these various societies expressed their identity, for example; the earth or place they live, their convictions, and their customs through their craftsmanship. There are numerous reasons why the people make their art, but these are only a couple of reasons. People have been making art for a great many years since ancient times. The artworks of this exhibit are assembled as wise and powerful people. They all come from different cultures and religions , but they all had similar characteristics and were wise beings. As stated before, they were loved by their people and servants and were seen as powerful beings. The artworks come from different parts of the world. Places like Europe, Africa, and Asia where the culture, practices, and religion are all different, but the leaders were somewhat in common. |
